Advanced Resuscitation & Oxygen Therapy Course in Bundoora

HLTAID015 - Provide Advanced Resuscitation and Oxygen Therapy course is designed to equip individuals with the skills required to provide CPR and oxygen therapy in complex situations, including workplace and community settings.

This course includes

  • HLTAID009 - Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and requires HLTAID011

  • Provide First Aid as a pre-requisite

What You Will Learn

  • Advanced CPR techniques – Use oxygen therapy and bag-valve-mask ventilation.

  • AED and oxygen equipment – Operate an Automated External Defibrillator and administer oxygen safely.

  • Managing life-threatening conditions – Use airway adjuncts, tourniquets, and haemostatic dressings for severe bleeding.

  • Resuscitation equipment maintenance – Inspect, set up, and use advanced first aid equipment.

  • Incident reporting and documentation – Record casualty conditions, complete reports, and participate in debriefing.

  • Managing psychological impacts – Recognize and manage stress after critical incidents.

Training Options

  • Face-to-Face Training – 6 hours.

  • Online with Face-to-Face Assessment – – 3 hours 30 minutes.

Entry Requirements

  • Must have completed HLTAID011 Provide First Aid.

  • Must meet physical requirements, including 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR.

  • Internet access required for pre-course study (if applicable).

  • Note: HLTAID003 Provide First Aid is not equivalent to HLTAID011 Provide First Aid and cannot be used as a substitute.

Assessment Requirements

  • Practical Scenarios:

    • Perform CPR on an adult using a bag-valve-mask, oxygen equipment, an AED, and recovery position.

    • Perform CPR on an infant.

    • Manage a casualty with a life-threatening bleed and provide oxygen therapy.

    • Complete an incident report. • Maintain and inspect resuscitation equipment

  • Theory assessment: Multiple-choice written assessment.

Certification & Renewal

Recommended renewal every 12 months.
